ALEXANDRIA, VA–Galactic Panther Gallery will hold an opening reception for its new exhibition “RESIST” by Orphan May 28 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. 1303 King St.

Fatherless is a Rockford, Illinois print collective that started in 2010. They have garnered international attention with their print, installation and commissioned work using a sinister palette and bold graphic sense. Members function as a unit, freely collaborating with each other’s ideas and images. This process does not reveal any individual artist or “father” but rather an amalgamation of the whole. Each piece is a unique monoprint that will never be repeated.

The collective power of the four individuals enables a wide range of ambitious projects that satirize what they see as “our consumer-driven, media-saturated, disposable culture”. The artists are Javier Jimenez, Greg Lang, Dave Menard and Ben Rider (UK).

Artists will be present at the opening which will be prepared locally and will feature live music. This event is free and open to the public. With over 50 local, national and international contemporary visionary artists, it’s a great opportunity to stop and pick up a fun gift, grab a snack and dance!
