WAY recently transformed Silversquare Central, a unique co-working space in the heart of Brussels, into a modern office that looks like an art gallery with the help of 12 architects and artists. The modernist building, which was once a Shell headquarters designed by Alexis Dumont and Marcel Van Goethem in the 1930s, is now outfitted with a curated collection of furniture and textiles. It’s an office like no other.
The MANIERA gallery asks architects and artists to break out of their usual practice and design furniture and everyday objects. For this project, each piece has been designed and developed to adapt to the context of a co-working space. The 12 creators include: A JDVIV icw Onbetaalbaar, Christophe Hefti, doorzon interior architecten, FELT Architecture & Design, jo taillieu architecten, Maxime PranantoMOS, OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen, PiovenefabiRichard Venlet icw Leander Venlet, Stephane Barbier Bouvetand Green Studio.
MANIERA also collaborated with doorzon interieurarchitecten for the general layout and Piovenefabi for the restaurant, resulting in a new space of 6,000 square meters.
The furniture and textiles are also now visible at the MANIERA gallery until May 22, 2022.
